The Godot Report #4

Another RC build for Godot 3.5, further improving various areas and default settings to ensure a great experience for current and future 3.5 users.

On top of the existing fixed-function fog, Godot 4.0 introduces a new type of fog: Volumetric Fog. For the 4.0 release, we decided to take Volumetric Fog one step further with the addition of FogVolumes. These allow users to dynamically place fog and control complex fog effects with shaders.

I wanted a glitchy look for the enemies in my new game Blacken Slash, this is the shader I wrote for them. Adds static noise and makes ’em glitchy! If you use multiple instances, randomly assign them a different offset param so they’re not glitching in sync.

Use with Particles Node.

This shader unwraps the mesh on the fly, aligned to World Position (it projects the mesh in UV space, colored by world coordinates / world position).

Since Godot doesn’t support specular maps in 2D natively like normals and I couldn’t find a solution anywhere, I decided to make this.

An extremely simple implementation of a squash and stretch shader in Godot. Tested in Godot 4.0 Alpha 11.

This simple shader allows swirling a sprite on itself. In its current state, it only works on stand-alone sprites. Don’t try to use an atlas with the rect selection.

I am learning game development with godot engine. i completed this game while following the udemy course.

In the far future, humans have harnessed the power of pure, undiluted evil to fuel technology beyond your wildest dreams.

This is a 2d scrolling mobile space shooter! Made on Godot. 10 spaceships and their requiem versions, 9 pets, 21 bosses, 3 skills.  Requiem arrow drops at level 29. Then 1% drop chance. It is possible to customize the background and music.

A lone astronaut has crashed to the lone surface of Mars! Help them escape by crafting weapons and shelter, and spending time to repair their spaceship!

Crime never rests, and neither does the Ghost Detective, probably. There is a missing skeleton and only the Ghost Detective can track them down. The Ghost Detective will need to find clues and investigate everywhere if they want to solve this case. But will they ever solve the case of their own death? 

Explore different types of maze and escape from them. Reveal secrets behind these mazes and be careful about monsters!

Graveyard of Time is a rougelike inspired by early Flash games. As a hero stuck in a timeloop use weaponry from both past and future to get through swamps full of dangers and break this anomaly. Collect shards to upgrade your arsenal, use physics objects to your advantage and most importantly - survive!

Hey guys i found this really old game when i was cleaning up my attic, and remembered how fun was to play as a child, so yeah; here is the rom.

This is my first complete game and was made for my first game jam. I made it in about a week for @programancer 's #retrogradejam . It's just a modified version of Minesweeper made in Godot with some extra features and new assets. I hope you enjoy, any feedback is appreciated!

Butterfly Attack is a Pokemon like battle game, but you have a move-set that rotates after reaching a certain amount of evolution points that increase by using the ability and over time.

This is my first game and my first godot project. It's a short exploration of a platforming concept I thought of for the Black and White 0.(9) jam and took me about a week and a half to make. If you have any feedback or find any bugs please let me know in the comments. I plan on updating this at least once after the jam has concluded to add some more content and QOL functionality, as well as to fix any bugs that show up.

A Gameboy-inspired platformer made for the Retrograde Jam 3. The objective is to jump to the top to reunite Sloppy with his lost friends!

Linger is a top-down puzzle game set in the dark recesses of the Earth's crust. You play as Kley, a mysterious creature birthed from an omniscient force, who has been awakened to find and destroy "The One That Lingers".  Manipulate darkness to solve puzzles while uncovering the secrets of the underground and (hopefully) saving the human race from an unstoppable evil.

I strongly recommend not to hit a wall when driving coz the crashing is a bit over the top.  When respawning from checkpoints, please wait until you touch the ground before moving.  So a lot of bugs i need to fix.

Hello everyone, here I present my game GammaWar. It took me about 24 hours to do it, I know the Gotm.io game jam started almost 2 weeks ago but I am a busy man.

Lights out is a mobile recreation of a classic puzzle game played on a 5x5 grid of lights.

Asteroids is a space minigame where you can control a small spaceship with just a button or a touch of the screen. Dodge all the asteroids and collect points by capturing the stars that appear.

Bokos garden is a small platformer submitted to the Spring into Summer Sokjam! In this game, you will have to find watering cans to turn plants into trees. You will navigate levels using the warp mechanic. For example, if you go left you will end up at the right of the level, but if you go down you will end up at the top of the level!

Bulb Forest is a forest powered by batteries. One day, an event occurred that scattered all the batteries around the forest! Robo, our hero, will go on an adventure to collect all the batteries and bring back power to Bulb Forest.

This game was  made for the Sokpop Spring into Summer 2022 Game Jam. It is unfinished and missing several aspects that I had wished to add, but may do so in the future.

Lore: After a miraculous surgery from a terrible accident, the first cyborg Ferrum Man goes on to become Ferrum City's protector to return the favor. However, after a period of peace, two prominent scientists and industry leaders of robotics have gone rogue. They have destroyed plenty in their wake, and while they're on the run after their first strike was pushed back, the city is still in danger and it's up to Ferrum Man to apprehend them before they get away.

This is a project I've been sat on for a while, which I've just polished enough to want to release. It's very short and probably won't be taken any furtherTo The Spaceport is a sci-fi platformer following a young traveller attempting to leave his war torn home planet. In this demo the first level is available, set in an underground city built of shipping containers that you traverse
