The Godot Report #5

While Godot 3.5 is nearing a stable release, we still want to provide relevant bug fixes to users of the current 3.4 stable branch who might not be ready to upgrade right away. It's been a long time since the release of Godot 3.4.4, and there are a few important fixes coming up in Godot 3.4.5.

The topic of running Godot games on consoles pops up very often. In this article you will find information about how console development works, the challenges that Godot faces for supporting those platforms and which alternatives exist to publish your games for them.

Another couple of weeks, another alpha snapshot from the development branch, this time with 4.0 alpha 12! Noteworthy changes: GDScript variable grouping annotations, full support for Android scoped storage, Font resource refactoring, lots of GDScript 2.0 bugs squashed.

Description

Dice-integration is a fast-paced grid-based game where you must destroy enemy pawns and keep yours alive. Every cell gets assigned a random number 1-6, and your dice rolls create deadly traps on cells with the corresponding number on the die. Those traps can destroy both your and enemy pawns.

Every three seconds the dungeon's spawn dice will roll, and a random enemy will spawn based on the face of the dice, however, your character somehow gained the ability to change the face of the spawn dice, thereby altering the monsters spawn rate! but beware. Monsters tend to be stronger when they spawn less frequently... 

You fight orcs in a dungeon with magical dice that can do a variety of things, like exploding, spawning a decoy or shatter into harmful shards.

Fly your plane using the power of Dice! You need them to do stuff, but you can't accumulate too many or you'll explode!

Snake God is having a good time playing board games at the bar. Time to ruin their day.

Hello!  We've created a game called "Rolli and the 6 Dimensions".

A special take on the "Roll of the dice" theme for the GMTK Jam 2022. The distance covered by the dice is determined by the number of dots on the top face of the die! There are a total of 6 levels. One playthrough is no longer than 10 minutes. 

A game of snakes and ladders, but you can perform a sneaky little trick... you can change the outcome of the dice by swapping them with one of your own before anyone notices. Think wisely when and how to use this ability.

Dice Swap is a game based on "dice" luck. You roll die that you can put into slots that have different properties. You have slots like speed slot that controls your movement speed,and jump that controls how high you jump.

Random Fate

Your objective is to move your piece to the end of the level, you do this by getting random dice numbers and moving your piece by the same amount of that number like a classical snake and ladders game, you can also save dice rolls to be used later.  Also beware of stopping on top of the snakes as it might lead to losing progress in the level and falling of the tiles will lead to restarting the whole level.

A Long Winter is a resource management survival game with randomized events.

You are a living dice, with a random roll cast a magic onto yourself. Unlike many, the only bad outcome is the neutral no effect. If you roll 1 to 3, you heal in an instant; if 4, a speed increase; 5 give you more strength; no effect if landed on 6. Everytime you roll, the speed and strength returns to normal. You have a roll attack as well, which don't trigger the magic.

DESCRIPTION

Dice Manager is a dice management simulator where you recruit dice, assemble a team, and pit that team against increasingly difficult opponents. However, your dice get worn down from the action and eventually need to rest up.

You are an entropy gremlin. You live within the Cathedral of Chance, where it is your sacred duty to monitor the fairness of the roll of the dice. But you have grown tired of hearing hapless adventurers moan and wail, so you decide to give them a hand. Consume chaos shards until your stomach is full and you are bursting with entropy, then find a nice spot to deposit a fate gem. The combined weight of chaos shards and fate gems will sway the adventurer's dice rolls, allowing them to overcome even the fiercest of monsters!

Score as many points as you can!

There is a fullscreen button in the bottom right, it can be a bit hard to see.

Instead of dung, this little beetle likes to roll a die around! Try and get it to the goal with the special beetle face pointing upwards.

This puzzle dungeon was made in one day for the GMTK 2022 game jam(themed roll of the dice) by three 14 year olds confined by their lack of time. In it, you, the main character, are a Dyse- a creature that obtains items by rolling over them in a top down dungeon. Using your amazing powers of revolution, you must escape the dungeon by beating puzzles, traps, and enemies. We hope you enjoy our game, and please stick around for future updates. So uhm, hi,  my name is Felipe and I made this game with my brother Lucas, we did our best to make this the best first Jam of ours but we didn't managed to put all the features we wanted such as: Enemy Spawners, a Better Arena, and much worse the theme of the Jam wasn't able to make the cut fully: picking chips from the health bar and using it to Roll the Dice so we would either get a upgrade on our weapon, or we wouldn't gain nothing and loose the chips we bet, this as well of many animations for the player and the enemy characters.

An high effort pico fangame i made for no absolute reason!

In a not so distant future, you work for a detective agency; A38 is the most sought out agency in Megalopolis, join them and solve crimes around the regions.

Currently the game is a prototype - we had big plans and little time, but also a lot of funthe plan is to expand the game post jam to include all the awesome art we haven't been able to add in and also to make the game, well, finishable.

Sole Saga is Action Roguelite Survival, where you fight many wave of enemies and build up your character with unique weapons and skills. Travel between the land of chaos to challenge epic bosses.

This is a 2d scrolling mobile space shooter! Made on Godot. 10 spaceships and their requiem versions, 9 pets, 21 bosses, 3 skills.  Requiem arrow drops at level 29. Then 1% drop chance. It is possible to customize the background and music.

You are stuck on a moon that is slowly losing oxygen, and you need to fix the oxygen generator to survive.

A lone astronaut has crashed to the lone surface of Mars! Help them escape by crafting weapons and shelter, and spending time to repair their spaceship!

Crime never rests, and neither does the Ghost Detective, probably. There is a missing skeleton and only the Ghost Detective can track them down. The Ghost Detective will need to find clues and investigate everywhere if they want to solve this case. But will they ever solve the case of their own death? 

Explore different types of maze and escape from them. Reveal secrets behind these mazes and be careful about monsters!
